Fort Myers Beach Town Council approves higher parking rates

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. (WINK) — Parking on Fort Myers Beach is getting more expensive.

Starting Oct. 1, street parking will increase from $5 to $6 per hour. Annual resident parking passes will cost $75, up from the current $50.

The town will also sell 500 non-resident parking passes for $300 each.

The Fort Myers Beach Town Council approved the changes at a budget hearing on Wednesday.
