Remembering Hurricane Ian: Four years later, your story matters

SANIBEL, Fla. (WINK) — Four years after Hurricane Ian changed Southwest Florida, WINK Listens is hearing from people across the region about the storm, the recovery and what life has looked like since.

Four years later, what does rebuilding look like for you?

For some, the storm’s impact is still visible through unfinished repairs, insurance disputes, contractor problems and damage that has never been fully addressed. Others have rebuilt their homes and businesses, started over somewhere new or found ways to move forward.

We also want to hear about the lessons you learned — what you wish you had known before Ian, how the storm changed the way you prepare for hurricanes, and the people or communities that helped you through the recovery.
